Internet of Things Center

The Centre of Excellence (CoE) is established within the premises of VIT-AP University to incubate the research activities related to IoT and its applications. The main emphasis is to design a platform to facilitate a sophisticated environment with useful tools to improve technical skills and research ideas, and develop young minds. It also provides leadership, best practices, and training to exchange knowledge towards enhancement in the focused area. The IoT has the potential to contribute significantly towards innovative farming methods and meeting the challenges of farmers. This Methods grow almost all of India's food; they manage a bulk of the nations biodiversity resources. The availability and quality of services like education, healthcare, drinking water and sanitation, transportation etc., need to be improved in society. The application of IoT can help address India's needs in these several areas and improved livelihoods, etc.

Smart Mask at affordable price

Face masks provide effective, easy-to-use, and low-cost protection against airborne pathogens or infectious agents, including SARS-CoV-2. Existing masks are all passive in nature, i.e., simply act as air filters for the nasal passage and/or mouth. In smart mask some wearable device will be equipped with smart sensors and actuators to both detect the presence of airborne pathogens in real time and take appropriate action to mitigate the threat. The existing smart masks are costly and also not useful for all age group. We are trying to design a smart mask at affordable price with different age group requirements.

Self-rechargeable Pacemaker

The traditional pacemaker devices have several limitations in the field of energy storage systems. Among the said, the need of going through surgical procedures are inevitable during battery replacement. Our work has shown a way to harvest energy from the body of the host and to create a network within the body in which a bunch of nano-batteries will store and circulate the energy by the blood vessels to satisfy the energy thirst of several interconnected electricity dependent medical implant devices.

Smart Pest Control

In India, the major losses in agricultural economy are due to insects and pests. Therefore, pesticides are widely used by farmers to control weeds, insects and plant diseases. Excess usage of pesticides is not only an adverse for the environment but also for human and economy of the nation[20]. Here, we are presenting a smart pest control system using IoT and Machine Learning for Mango trees to prevent form red banded caterpillar infestation. The major mango growing areas of the West Bengal, east coast of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa causing 10-52% damage of fruits from pin headed stage to full maturity due to these insects. The proposed system can be seen in the below Figure. An automate pest control system will minimizes the excess use of pests and it will only apply based on the requirements and affected areas.

TARS 2

VISU(VIT-AP Intelligent super Utility) is a 3D printed robot built from scratch using minimal design and simple yet sophisticated electronics. Backed by Arduino and Raspberry pi and customized so as to make it modular in terms of design and technology that expands its range of abilities. The robot comes equipped with Voice and Face recognition tech. The arms and torso are powered by high torque Servo motors that provide enough power to lift a baby. Powered by over 25 motors, the robot can effortlessly mimic human movement. Every piece of tech involved has been hacked, modified and customized to satisfy constraints that were once a limitation.
